PORN!!!

Bookshelf PornNo, not that kind of porn. But I got your attention, didn’t I?  Ha!

I’m talking about a website called “Bookshelf Porn.” It is a Pinterest-style site set up to showcase – you guessed it – bookshelves. Tons of them. Loaded with books. It’s a thing of beauty for bibliophiles. But don’t worry, even if you’re like me and you don’t really “get” Pinterest (even though, like me, you have an account), this is very simple. It’s not a social network: you see a picture, click on it, and you get a bigger picture and description – no pinning, no going out to someone else’s site.

I want to live in those rooms with those bookshelves, just shut myself in, forget about the world outside, and stay there for as long as it takes to read every single word at least twice.

Have I mentioned it’s a thing of beauty?

Oh… and there are articles tucked away among the photographs. After all, everyone knows it’s really all about the articles. The porn is just extra. Right???

I realize this post may seem shockingly short, but it’s because I interrupted myself to share this great find with you. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some “porn” to finish perusing…

;-)

Love this and I’m heading over. My dream is to one day have a large library in my home. I love my eReader but will never stop loving the smell, feel, and wonderment of actual books.

I’m with you – I have an eReader on my iPad, but I will never give up a real book!

So funny you said “smell,” Suzy! I was in a tiny little bookshop in Seattle a couple of years ago and bought a 1922 edition of Don Quixote (in Spanish) just because of the smell. Yes, I’ll say it: Hi, I’m Edee. I like to sniff old books. Not just sniff them, inhale the musky scent so hard you’d think I was trying to pull the words right off the pages. Then again, I love the smell of a brand-spanking new book. To be the first to hear the slight crack in the spine when you open it for the first time, and the inky, new-paper smell? Heaven on earth!

    Nope. I’m not ashamed. lol
